Gran Fondo Dead Sea Challenge road cycling race is a once in a lifetime opportunity to discover and experience Israel by bike.
You will ride from the lush green northern border to the dry and arid south of the Judean Desert. This event will take you off the beaten track and show you an often unseen side of Israel. This opportunity is for serious bike riding enthusiasts who want to explore Israel in an exciting, unique way, and have the opportunity to do it with local riders.
The Gran Fondo Dead Sea Challenge is one of the best ways to get to know Israel’s topography, demographics, borders, scenery and history. You will breathe the cool, clear air of the Galilee Mountains while riding through forested landscapes. You pass through villages of different religions and the historical landscape near the Sea of Galilee. Further south you will see other amazing sighs such as the the Dead Sea, Masada Fort, Ramon Crater and many others along the way. The total trip will involve a total of approximately 315 miles / 487 km. cycling and some 24,600 feet/ 7,500 m. cumulative elevation climb.
For the Gran Fondo Dead Sea Challenge you initially spend two days in the Western Galilee with riders in your group. You will then depart on a four day bike ride to locations across Israel. This bike trip will take you from the north to south while passing along Israel’s borders, giving you a full experience of the country and its distinctive nature. Professional bike instructors and a tour guide will accompany you, telling you about sites and scenes on the way. They will also assist with transportation of equipment and other needs. In support of the event there will be follow cars, technical support, meals, drinks and snacks throughout the ride.
This is the third Gran Fondo Dead Sea Challenge and promises you a riding experience at the highest level and a journey you will remember for many years to come!
